We were recently given the opportunity to manufacture and install signage and corporate branding for G.J. Gardner Homes onto their new showroom and office complex in North Road Warragul. High resolution digital images were printed and then applied to the glass windows which instantly gave the building an impressive look, plus with the additional of the large upper wall sign the building certainly came alive, it was not overdone and less is always best.
On all of our outdoor signage projects, if the lettering and logo work is not being handpainted or handbrushed the traditional way with enamel paints for maximum longevity then I always use an Avery 900 Graphics material which is the best available on the market. There is no comparison in quality, this high grade signage material has very little fading and or shrinkage over a 9 to 10 year period for which it is rated for by Avery in our harsh outdoor climate, plus I know that our customer is getting the best product possible when the job is finished and I have left the work site.
Internally I manufactured and installed a simple but very effective looking reception sign which went onto the front counter, this together with a hidden strip of LED lights which were custom built into the counter top looked great when it was all put together. A high gloss 3mm thick panel of white perspex was used along with 3 dimensional perspex letters which I had laser cut to match their corporate logo, colours and branding style.
Next the G.J. Gardner Homes company colours and branding was applied to their Toyota work ute, again the look was kept nice and simple with the layout/design being one that is easily recognisable. The same superior Avery 900 graphics material that I used on the building signage was also used for these vehicle signs instead of a digital printed sign which would of faded out the red coloured sections of the logo/branding in a 2-3 year period. This short time frame I find completely unacceptable and the modern signage industry or print industry has lost touch with quality. Signs should last much longer than 3-5 years, they certainly once did, which sadly was not all that many years ago back when sign companies made signs the traditional way and yes ours will so call me or drop into the signshop of Grant Fowler Signs at 94 Waterloo Road Trafalgar in Gippsland.
One last thing, if you want your building signage to stay fresh looking and last a longer time then its important to wash them often just like you do your work vehicle or personal car etc. Maybe once every 6 months will remove any dirt and grime which is what attacks the paint and surface materials. You can use any car soap you have available or any dish washing soap will do, just sponge or brush them over and rise off with the garden hose and they will look great and stay in good condition. Street appeal is very important for your business, your business signs are very important, you paid good money for them so you should look after them.
If you just don’t have the available time or the capabilities in reaching up to your signs on a building fascia or sign pylon etc, then this is something that Grant Fowler Signs can help you with also.
